Jr. Olympics

I've been assigned to help photograph the various events of the 2006 Junior Olympics right here in Hampton Roads, Virginia. This is a large national event for youth sports and it sounds like a fun event to be a part of. I'll be shooting events such as gymnastics and track & field. My First Podcast

Always wanting to stay in the loop, I've tried out making my own podcast. This podcast is in a similar style (although only a few minutes long) to those audio tours you can listen to at a museum to accompany you as you walk around and look at various artwork or other items of interest. If you do listen to this, send me an email at art@jenniferlycke.com so I know people are actually curious enough to listen to a few minutes of my "spiel". Try out the podcast here at http://www.jenniferlycke.com/paintingpodcast.mp3

Hampton Roads Underground

I've been selected as the Feature Artist for the debut of the Hampton Roads Underground at http://www.hrunderground.com
This is a cool new site to showcase artists, writers, and bands in Hampton Roads in Southeastern Virginia and help the creative "underground" scene in the community thrive. I encourage any local artists, writers, or musicians to submit a profile and help this new community grow.

Phil Rea Exhibition

Well, the Phil Rea Exhibition is going strong, with 5 of my original paintings on display in the showroom. This is a 3-story showroom/model house/office fully furnished and with art from local artists for sale. It's a great way to see what the paintings would look like in a furnished living space. If you live in the Hampton Roads area, come check out the showroom for free behind Patrick Henry Mall in Newport News. My work will be on display through October. Who knows, maybe you'll be inspired to do some remodeling or even buy some local art? Pictured above is the article about the venue in Diversions magazine.
